Rockefeller Center
The spectacular complex of Art Deco buildings was developed in the early 1930s by the Rockefeller family on a 22-acre tract between 48th and 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Named for John D. Rockefeller, Rockefeller Center is home to Radio City Music Hall, the TODAY Show, the world-famous ice skating rink, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, several restaurants, many shops, the newly re-opened Rainbow Room and the most famous Christmas Tree Lighting in the world.
